{"id":11152,"date":"2019-11-08T14:24:43","date_gmt":"2019-11-08T19:24:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.communify.me\/newvinegrowing\/?p=11152"},"modified":"2021-01-28T17:10:20","modified_gmt":"2021-01-28T22:10:20","slug":"welcome-to-my-new-10-year-old-blog","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging.communify.me\/newvinegrowing\/welcome-to-my-new-10-year-old-blog\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome to my new (10-year-old) blog!"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>Welcome!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This is more of a relocation than a grand opening, but I&#8217;m happy to have you stop by Newvine Growing&#8217;s new home.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>I launched my blog about living life intentionally in 2009. Since then, the digital world has changed so much. Podcasting and short videos are what the cool kids do these days, blogging is considered old fashioned. But I still find it the best way to share my thoughts and to profile people who inspire me.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Yet, I have been thinking that I\u2019d outgrown the free WordPress format I&#8217;d been using, even with a few redesigns along the way. The experience isn\u2019t great on a phone, and increasingly the ads were distracting.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Meanwhile, I launched a coaching business. That started as marketing coaching, a part of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/colleennewvine.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">my marketing consulting practice<\/a>, then evolved as I got trained by CTI, the largest in-person coach training program. I began to enjoy also coaching people more broadly, on career and life goals, not connected at all to marketing challenges.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>It makes sense to offer marketing coaching as part of my marketing consulting website. You can either hire me to create a strategy for you or I can support you while you do that work yourself.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>But it felt stapled on to talk about career coaching and life coaching on a website about marketing. While I firmly believe that understanding your values and needs can make you happier and more successful in business, I didn\u2019t think someone who wants to make a career change would logically understand why she\u2019s coming to a site that talks about reaching your ideal customer.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>I was ruminating on this challenge \u2014 offering two related but actually distinct services \u2014 when a friend pointed out that I already have a website that focuses on living life intentionally. Isn\u2019t that what coaching is all about?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Um. Yeah.
