Teaming for Community Prosperity<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As 12-year veterans who\u2019ve placed hundreds of business professional staff in critical positions with some of the world\u2019s leading law firms, the team at Maverick witnesses daily the barriers to entry faced by adult job seekers, especially those from the underserved and under-resourced communities supported by StreetWise Partners in the NYC, Detroit and DC metro areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Startling figures, such as 70% of available positions aren\u2019t published on job search sites and 70% of professionals get hired as a result of a pre-existing connection, underscore the extent of the issue. As industry leaders, we recognise the responsibility we have to work to redress this hiring imbalance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On April 22, Ren Tucker, Michele Iacovano, Ben Field and a select group of clients and partners participated in SWP\u2019s Annual Partnership Celebration in honor of LinkedIn. Through virtual breakout sessions, the team mentored adult job seekers from diverse backgrounds seeking employment and internship opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe continue to be energized by our involvement in SWP\u2019s mentorship program and derive great satisfaction from meeting these talented professionals. The caliber of this year\u2019s crop really is strong. We urge our community to keep an eye out for SWP job seekers \u2014 they are high potential individuals who really just need someone to open a door for them,\u201d Ren remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Working alongside SWP as mentors, sitting on their Employer Advisory Board and supporting their marketing and branding efforts, are just some of the ways we make a difference in our community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
