Today, the Greater New Orleans Foundation (Foundation) announced that Tyronne Walker will join the organization as Vice President for Communications and Public Affairs.\u00a0 Walker currently serves as Senior Advisor and Communications Director for Mayor Mitch Landrieu and the City of New Orleans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to have Tyronne join the Foundation at this exciting time as we work to significantly grow the Foundation\u2019s assets and play an even stronger leadership role in the civic affairs of our region,\u201d said Andy Kopplin, President and CEO of the Foundation.\u00a0 \u201cTyronne brings a wealth of experience in communications, public relations, brand development and management as well as public affairs and stakeholder engagement.\u00a0 These experiences will be tremendous assets as we work to amplify the positive impact our donors and fundholders, corporate and foundation partners, and board and staff are making in the greater New Orleans region.\u00a0 Having worked closely with Tyronne in the past, I know him to be a values-based leader and colleague who always gets the job done.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI couldn\u2019t be more excited to join this mission-driven and impactful organization,\u201d Walker said.\u00a0 \u201cFor thirty-five years, the Greater New Orleans Foundation has supported and galvanized this region\u2019s philanthropic community and played a strategic leadership role in building our nonprofit sector and strengthening our communities.\u00a0 I look forward to joining the team and helping position the organization and its many philanthropic partners to have even greater impact.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In his current role, Walker oversees all internal and external communications and community engagement for the City of New Orleans.\u00a0 Prior to this role, Walker served as the Senior Advisor for Local Government Affairs to Mayor Mitch Landrieu and was a member of the Bloomberg Philanthropies Innovation Delivery Team, where he helped develop and implement NOLA For Life, the City of New Orleans\u2019 Comprehensive Murder Reduction Strategy.\u00a0 He also delivered solutions to clients in the private sector as Principal of Walker Strategic Solutions, LLC.\u00a0 Walker holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in Political Science from Saint Michael\u2019s College in Vermont.<\/p>\n<p>Walker will start as Vice President for Communications and Public Affairs on June 4, 2018.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(New Orleans, LA \u2013 April 12, 2018) &#8211;
