This workshop is designed for executive directors, human resource directors, and staff and board members with human resource management or supervision responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Human Resources: Risk Management<\/strong><br \/>\nTuesday, June 9, 2015<br \/>\n9:00 a.m. \u2013 11:30 a.m<br \/>\nGreater New Orleans Foundation<br \/>\n1055 St. Charles Ave. Suite 120, New Orleans, LA<\/p>\n<p>This workshop will provide information on Federal employment discrimination laws including what is prohibited, how these laws are enforced, punishments for violations, and protected classes. Participants will learn the different types of sexual harassment and what employers must do to protect themselves including best practices for conducting investigations. Information will also be provided on workplace violence including risk factors and prevention strategies.\u00a0 This workshop will help your organization:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reduce your risk of being held liable in employee management situations<\/li>\n<li>Create a workplace environment that treats employees both fairly and legally<\/li>\n<li>Eliminate harassment and discrimination to create a safe work environment for all<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>*This workshop is for informational purposes only.\u00a0 The foundation staff and trainers are not lawyers and are not providing legal advice. As Director of Human Resources, Tori not only implements internal policies but also advises clients on a variety of HR services, including:\u00a0employee handbooks, harassment training,\u00a0personnel file maintenance, and HR form templates, among others.<\/p>\n<p>Tori earned her\u00a0B.S. in Psychology from Louisiana State University and\u00a0is currently pursuing a\u00a0\u00a0Masters Degree\u00a0in Industrial\/Organizational Psychology from Southeastern Louisiana University.\u00a0Previously, she was\u00a0an office manager for a computer software company and\u00a0completed an internship at a nonprofit animal shelter where she improved\u00a0their performance evaluation system.<\/p>\n<p>Tori lives in New Orleans and\u00a0is a member\u00a0of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
