Unfortunately, most supervisors haven\u2019t had the benefit of practice and training on how to best lead and manage people. This workshop is geared towards people who are new to supervision and those who seek to renew their leadership style with a model that promotes effective communication, feedback, and goal-setting.<\/p>\n<p>The Greater New Orleans Foundation Organizational Effectiveness initiative is excited to partner with CompassPoint Nonprofit Services for a full-day supervisory training on\u00a0<strong>Wednesday, November 11th, 9:00 am-4:00 pm at the Greater New Orleans Foundation. <\/strong>Workshop topics will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic responsibilities of a supervisor<\/li>\n<li>Establishing work plans and goal-setting<\/li>\n<li>Giving constructive and supportive feedback<\/li>\n<li>Professional development planning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, participants will learn how to design and lead effective supervision meetings and how to provide positive and corrective feedback.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This learning opportunity is designed for teams of up to four participants from your organization. <\/strong>Participants must currently supervise staff or will be supervising staff in the near future. We <em>strongly<\/em> recommend that the Executive Director participates as that\u00a0will help to support organizational-wide application of learning (if the ED cannot attend another senior management person like Deputy Director, COO or VP of HR should participate).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fees for the workshop are based on the number of participants: $175 for a team of two and $250 for teams of three or four participants.<\/strong> Lunch will be provided and attendees will receive a workbook with samples and templates. Registration will be accepted on a first-come first-serve basis. Payment is required at the time of registration. <strong>Registration is final and refunds will not be issued.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The training will be held at the Greater New Orleans Foundation located at 1055 St. Charles Ave. on <strong>Wednesday, November 11th, <\/strong><strong>9:00 am-4:00 pm<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/oeworkshops.kimbia.com\/supervisortraining1115\" target=\"_blank\">Click here to register<\/a>. Please contact Kellie Chavez Greene at <a href=\"mailto:kellie@gnof.org\">kellie@gnof.org<\/a> if you need additional information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the trainer: <\/strong>This workshop is being led by Marla Cornelius, MNA, Senior Project Director at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.compasspoint.org\/\">CompassPoint Nonprofit Services<\/a><strong>.\u00a0 <\/strong>Marla developed and manages several of CompassPoint\u2019s nonprofit management and leadership programs and research projects. She co-authored the national research report\u00a0<em>UnderDeveloped: A National Study of Challenges Facing Nonprofit Fundraising<\/em>\u00a0(2013). She also led the development of the studies\u00a0<em>Ready to Lead? Next Generation Leaders Speak Out<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em>(2008) and\u00a0<em>Daring to Lead 2011: A National Study of Nonprofit Executive Leadership<\/em>.
