Designed in partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.compasspoint.org\/\">CompassPoint Nonprofit Services<\/a> and funded by a grant from the <a href=\"http:\/\/kresge.org\/\">Kresge Foundation<\/a>, Emerging Leaders is a leadership training program providing mid-level managers in <a href=\"https:\/\/staging.communify.me\/gnof\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Kresge-def-for-human-service-orgs.pdf\">human services<\/a> nonprofit organizations with the management and financial skills they need to move to the next level of leadership.<\/p>\n<p>Using a multicultural framework rooted in racial and social justice that examines cultural dimensions in managing people and organizational finances, this initiative focuses on\u00a0these two areas: deepening the management and leadership capabilities of individual participants and increasing the overall health and sustainability of their current and future organizations of employment.<\/p>\n<p>The inaugural Emerging Leaders program <a href=\"https:\/\/staging.communify.me\/gnof\/emerging-leaders-program-announces-first-graduates\/\">graduated seventeen professionals<\/a> working in the human services sector. \u201cEmerging Leaders allows you to discuss and connect with other professionals in similar fields and organizations,\u201d said Sean Tate,\u00a0REACH Program Coordinator, Samuel J. Green Charter School. The Emerging Leaders class will bring together a cohort of up to 20 people from various ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds from across southeast Louisiana human services organizations.<\/p>\n<p><b>Program Costs<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b>This program is supported in part by a grant from The Kresge Foundation. \u00a0If selected, each participant\u2019s organization must pay a nominal participation fee.\u00a0 Fees are on a sliding scale based on organization\u2019s budget size. This fee will be due upon acceptance into the program to secure that participant\u2019s spot. The total value of this program is approximately $6,000 per person.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$500 for organizations with operating budget size of under $1 million<\/li>\n<li>$750 for organizations with operating budget size between $1 and 3 million<\/li>\n<li>$1,000 for organizations with operating budget size over $3 million<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A 15% off discount will be available to any organization with an Executive Director who is registered for the <a href=\"https:\/\/staging.communify.me\/gnof\/executive-director-intensive-june-17-19-2015-register-now\/\">Executive Director Intensive <\/a>\u00a0or to any organization with an Emerging Leaders 2014 alum.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cHow to Apply\u201d Conference Call<br \/>\n<\/strong>A one-hour informational call about the program and the application process will be held on\u00a0<strong>Friday, February 27, 2015 from 12:00 \u2013 1:00 pm CDT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>To register for this call, please click <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/1kliLAZa_Scb7jlCETCMcaM-1BNjpWhhBWaaMd84vFhA\/viewform?usp=send_form\" class=\"broken_link\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Timeline<br \/>\n<\/strong>The timeline for the Emerging Leaders program is as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>February 23: Applications open<\/li>\n<li>February 27: \u201cHow to Apply\u201d conference call (register <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/1kliLAZa_Scb7jlCETCMcaM-1BNjpWhhBWaaMd84vFhA\/viewform?usp=send_form\" class=\"broken_link\">here<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>March 23: Application deadline<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For those who are accepted to the program, there will be a four day in person seminar from\u00a0August 26 \u2013 August 31. At this seminar, dates for four two-hour calls over the course of September &#8211; December will be scheduled with the group.
