GiveNOLA Day will be on May 5, 2015<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

(December 1, 2014 | New Orleans, LA) Registration opens today for nonprofits wanting to participate in the second annual GiveNOLA Day, a community-wide, 24-hour online giving day, that will take place on May 5th, 2015, from midnight to midnight. Registration will be open from today, December 1, 2014 through March 17, 2015. Nonprofits wishing to register should visit www.GiveNOLA.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n

All 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that are in good standing with the IRS, nonprofit entities that have a fiscal sponsor that is a 501(c)(3) organization in good standing with the IRS, and organizations categorized by the IRS as 509(a)(3) are eligible to participate. The organization\u2019s service area and mailing address must be in the Greater New Orleans Foundation 13-parish region, which is: Assumption, Jefferson, Lafourche, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Terrebonne, and Washington. Supporting organizations must provide additional documentation, if not already on file with the Greater New Orleans Foundation.<\/p>\n

All nonprofits must participate in a mandatory webinar that will be offered on: December 16, January 6, January 20, February 3, February 24, February 27 or March 27 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, or February 27, March 13 or March 27 from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Additionally, the Greater New Orleans Foundation is offering optional workshops to \u201cMaximize your Success,\u201d which are two hours each and will focus on cultivating and stewarding donors, improving your social media fundraising skills, and strengthening your ability to raise money online. In its inaugural year, GiveNOLA Day raised an astonishing $2.2 million for the 309 participating nonprofits from more than 19,000 generous donors.<\/p>\n
