The stations had five different themes &#8211; <strong>Learn, Green Your Home, Green Your Community, Grow Your Business and Get Trained<\/strong>. At the <em>Learn<\/em> station, participants, through a set of interactive exhibits, were able to see how water runoff and drainage affects community resources, learn more about recycling, and submit questions on climate change which would be answered on WWNO\u2019s Coastal Desk podcast. Through the Action Stations, participants learned about climate solutions and exhibitors learned from each other as well. The tours of neighborhood green infrastructure projects gave real, tangible examples of what people can do in their homes and community to combat the effects of climate change such as more frequent floods and heat island effects. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nola.com\/news\/environment\/article_7f6676ca-0ef2-11ea-8974-37cd6593feac.html\">Bus Tour<\/a> traveled through the Treme and 7<sup>th<\/sup> Ward neighborhoods highlighting community-based solutions to reduce flooding and decrease energy costs. The Walking Tour centered on green infrastructure in the Broadmoor neighborhood, one of the first neighborhoods to embrace green infrastructure in New Orleans post-Katrina.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11430\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.communify.me\/gnof\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/IMG_1556.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staging.communify.me\/gnof\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/IMG_1556.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/staging.communify.me\/gnof\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/IMG_1556-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Throughout the day, the Fest attendees gathered on the patio of of Rosa Keller Library for community conversations entitled \u201cPatio Chats.\u201d The Patio Chats included discussions between neighborhood leaders, non-profit advocates, and city officials around the important issues related to climate change. Patio Chats included a discussion of New Orleans\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/staging.communify.me\/gnof\/taking-steps-together-on-equity-climate-change-a-report-by-and-for-new-orleanians\/\">Climate Action Equity Project and Report<\/a>, the work of residents in reducing flooding in their homes and neighborhoods, and a discussion about the nexus between water and energy with leaders from the energy efficiency and water sectors.
